Sinn Féin is to propose that the work of the inquiry into the National Assets Management Agency (NAMA) continues.

Mr Daithí McKay MLA said those involved in corruption, dodgy deals and political interference are to be held to account.

Mr McKay said: “Michael Noonan clearly knew that the sale of the Project Eagle portfolio was compromised but did nothing to stop the sale.

“Many businesses within the Project Eagle portfolio who were not within a golden circle of developers and former government advisors have been screwed over as a result of the behaviour of Michael Noonan and NAMA.

“Noonan still has questions to answer.

“Former DUP Ministers also have questions to answer.

“We have seen the secret recording of Mr Frank Cushnahan.

“We have seen DUP Ministers robustly defend the integrity of Mr Cushnahan after they held meetings with him about Project Eagle.

“And folks, we didn’t come up the Lagan or the Liffey in a bubble.

“Sinn Féin want to see a fully independent Commission of Investigation to examine the sale of Project Eagle and it must report to the new Dáil.”
