apply nowYou are a Quantity Surveyor based in the Cork/ Munster area and are seeking a role that will excite and challenge you as well as offer you the opportunity to really push your career on.
You would love to join an energetic, modern Irish Mechanical Contractor working on some of the most talked about projects in Ireland. This Contractor has multiple projects in the Cork/Munster region and currently have a need for a strong Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to work on a €multi-million projects.
Your new company have flourished into a recognized specialist in cleanroom construction, HVAC services, heat recovery, carbon emission reduction projects, and general mechanical and electrical services. Over the past three decades they have expanded its operations across diverse industry sectors, showcasing extensive expertise in Bio Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Electronics, Food & Dairy, and Data Centre/Light Industrial fields.
Quantity Surveyor Skills:
- A relevant third level degree (bachelor’s degree or equivalent) is required.
- Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in Mechanical/Piping projects, preferably with a main contractor or M&E subcontractor.
- Previous project experience in Pharma, Industrial, Data Centres, or Hi-Tech industries is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for the role.
- Excellent IT skills are also required for this position.
As a Quantity Surveyor:
- Participation in all project stages, which encompass tender documentation, cost management, assessment of contractor performance, and procurement.
- Oversee Sub-Contract orders, starting from the award phase until the final account is settled.
- Evaluate and manage the financial aspects of all projects to ensure accurate and dependable reporting.
- Identify, analyse, and report on emerging trends within the Business & Projects.
- Attend relevant customer/client commercial meetings and contribute valuable insights.
- Ensure adherence to the Contract Programme/Schedule and provide construction teams with weekly progress reports comparing planned versus actual progress.
- Examine all incoming correspondence from Employers, Design Team, and subcontractors to identify crucial contractual matters and initiate responses.
- Develop a procurement schedule tailored to the project’s needs.
- Periodically review works to identify suitable cost-saving measures.
The Package:
Salary to be expected of €60k – €80k depending on experience, plus Phone/Laptop. Additional leave, Bike to work scheme, Company events, Company pension, Flexitime, Private medical insurance & genuine career progression.
