You are an experienced Health and Safety Officer and have aspirations to progress to a Regional Health and Safety Manager one day but in your current role you can't see this happening. You have strong experience as a health and Safety Officer whether that's in construction or civil's work and are driven to push your career forward.

This Irish Main Contractor currently have 4 live projects in Cork and have a need for a strong Health and Safety Officer. Once in the company and progressing in your role there will be the opportunity to take on the role of Regional Health and Safety Manager for the Cork region.

The projects are all water infrastructure projects and although experience in this area would be beneficial this is not essential as someone from a building / construction background would also be considered if you have a very strong Health and Safety background.
 

Senior Health and Safety Advisor Skills:

The Health and Safety role would suit an experienced, self-reliant individual who would relish the opportunity to work for an award-winning Main Contractor.

• You will have a qualification in Health and Safety
• You will have experience working on large civil's / construction projects
• Civils / water experience is preferable but not mandatory
• You have a strong and proven ability to influence change and be a champion of best practice
• You must have excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• You will have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint)
• You must possess a full clean driving licence

As Senior Health and Safety advisor you will:

Report to and work closely with the Group Health and Safety Manager and Contracts Manager. You will be responsible for large construction sites, ensuring the implementation of safety statements, legislation and company policy across the site and that all relevant safety documents are completed and filed correctly.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver high levels of HSE performance
• Engage with the operational team to commend HSE working methods or gain improvement
• You will liaise with the Project Management Team to ensure Health and Safety documentation is up to date on site
• Coach and promote HSE to on-site teams
• You'll drive a safety culture by being a champion of best practice; conducting training for new and existing employees on the importance of health and safety on the job; and by suggesting improvements to existing methods of work.

The Package:

An attractive salary of €60,000 – €70,000 + package will be put in place for the successful candidate and the opportunity to work with one of the most exciting companies in Ireland.
