Main Contractor

One of Ireland’s most progressive Main Contractor's have a need for an experienced Health and Safety officer. The current project is a €multi-million office project in Dublin. The role will involve overseeing the construction of this commercial project and ensuring that health and safety regulations are followed and adhered by.

Senior Health and Safety officer Skills:

The Health and Safety role would suit an experienced, self-reliant individual who would relish the opportunity to work for a company that is dedicated to ensure best practices in the areas of health and safety.

• You will have a third level degree qualification in Health and Safety
• You will have experience working on structural and civil projects.
• Commercial experience is preferable
• You have a strong and proven ability to influence change and be a champion of best practice
• You must have excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• You will have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint)
• You must possess a full clean driving licence

As Senior Health and Safety officer you will:

Report to and work closely with the Senior Health and Safety Manager and Contracts Manager. You will be responsible for large construction sites, ensuring the implementation of safety statements, legislation and company policy across the site and that all relevant safety documents are completed and filed correctly.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver high levels of HSE performance
• Engage with the operational team to commend HSE working methods or gain improvement
• You will liaise with the Project Management Team to ensure Health and Safety documentation is up to date on site
• Coach and promote HSE to on-site teams
• You'll drive a safety culture by being a champion of best practice; conducting training for new and existing employees on the importance of health and safety on the job; and by suggesting improvements to existing methods of work.

The Package:

An attractive package of €65,000 – €70,000 + 10% pension, car/ car allowance + package will be put in place for the successful candidate and the opportunity to work with one of the most exciting companies in Ireland.
