As a Design Engineer you will play a critical role in the product development process. Working closely with the engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and implementing mechanical components and systems. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that the products meet high-quality standards, perform optimally, and comply with industry regulations. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will contribute to all phases of the product development lifecycle, from concept generation to manufacturing support.

You will be working at a highly reputable company in Ireland, holding a prestigious CE class 3 accreditation. Design Engineer Skills:

 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and standards.
  • Experience in designing mechanical components and systems for [specific applications, if applicable].
  • Familiarity with simulation and analysis tools (e.g., FEA, CFD) to validate and optimize designs.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools is a plus.

As a Design Engineer:

 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, industrial designers, and manufacturing specialists, to develop innovative mechanical designs for our products.
  • Create detailed 3D models, drawings, and specifications using industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to ensure accurate representation of design intent.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, perform engineering calculations, and analyse mechanical systems to evaluate performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve product designs, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Perform simulation and testing activities to validate design concepts and identify potential issues or improvements.
  • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure the successful transition from design to production.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to select appropriate materials, components, and suppliers for the project.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and provide technical support for any mechanical issues encountered during product development or in the field.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in mechanical design engineering.
  • Adhere to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
