Reporting directly to the Estimating and Commercial Managers, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of cost management and procurement for a diverse range of projects.

You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective allocation of resources, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and integrity throughout the project lifecycle.

Senior QS Skills:

 

  • Possess an applicable third-level degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Accumulate a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ expertise as a quantity surveyor in the construction sector, involving exposure to commercial and industrial projects of considerable scale.
  • Exhibit enthusiasm for employment within the Construction field.
  • Demonstrate a robust sense of commercial acumen.
  • Proficiently utilise Microsoft Office, proficient in generating comprehensive monthly reports.
  • Display conscientiousness, impeccable attention to detail, and adept multitasking abilities.
  • Embrace a positive outlook, driven by a desire to learn and achieve, characterised by energy and accountability.
  • Contribute effectively within a team environment.

As a Senior QS:

 

  • Review and analyse project specifications, drawings, and related documents to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to gain insights into project goals and objectives.
  • Prepare precise and detailed cost estimates for Mechanical and HVAC projects.
  • Utilise and develop estimating software and tools to ensure accuracy in cost calculations.
  • Consider factors such as materials, labour, equipment, subcontractor costs, and overheads in estimating calculations.
  • Work closely within the QS/Estimating team to develop comprehensive and competitive bid proposals.
  • Present and justify cost estimates to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Source and evaluate potential vendors and subcontractors for cost competitiveness and reliability.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new technologies affecting Mechanical and HVAC systems.
  • Continuously refine and improve estimating processes based on feedback and lessons learned from completed projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Project Managers, Engineers, and Procurement, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and subcontractors to address queries and clarify project details.

The Package:

The salary is dependent on experience 70K to €90K and the successful candidate will be rewarded favourably with a package to include Bonus, pension support, wellbeing porgrammes and professional development opportunities
