BIM Coordinator Skills:
- A third-level qualification in BIM, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, with additional BIM-specific training preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar BIM role within the construction or engineering industry.
- Solid understanding of BIM tools and digital design coordination workflows (Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, etc.).
- Familiarity with document management systems and Common Data Environments such as Aconex, BIM360, or similar platforms.
- Strong attention to detail with a solutions-driven mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative project team.
- Self-motivated, with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and program delivery.
- Full, clean driving license required.
As a BIM Coordinator:
- Ensure the project’s information requirements (EIR) are met and maintain compliance with the BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
- Manage, receive, and maintain information for the Project Information Model (PIM) throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee and review all information exchanges within the project's Common Data Environment (CDE).
- Collaborate continuously with multi-disciplinary BIM Coordinators across the project teams.
- Execute and oversee spatial coordination processes to ensure clash-free models and efficient design solutions.
- Track and report on the coordination process and issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Utilize reality capture tools and software (e.g., laser scanning) to verify site installations against design intent.
- Manage and collate asset information for incorporation into the Asset Information Model (AIM) for final project handover.
- Support the Design Manager in design development and project delivery stages.
- Assist with the coordination of design teams and specialist subcontractors, ensuring smooth information flow and coordination.
- Attend and/or host BIM coordination meetings and workshops as required.
- Verify and confirm suppliers' capabilities to meet project BIM requirements.
