The Company
This is an opportunity to join a well established international engineering contractor delivering complex mission critical projects across Europe. With a strong pipeline of Data Centre developments in Italy, the business is recognised for technical excellence, high quality MEP installation and a serious commitment to BIM driven project delivery.
Their Milan based team operates at the forefront of digital construction, where BIM is fully embedded into live project execution. You will be working in a structured BIM environment on large scale Data Centre builds where precision, coordination and programme certainty are critical.
The Role – BIM Engineer
As a BIM Engineer on Data Centre projects, you will play a central role in model production, coordination and clash resolution on live construction sites. This is not a back office modelling position. You will be embedded within the project team, working closely with MEP Coordinators, Project Managers and subcontractors to ensure that mechanical and electrical systems are delivered clash free and buildable first time.
You will take ownership of 3D model development, 2D installation drawings and federated model updates, ensuring that coordination standards are maintained and that the BIM process actively supports programme, quality and commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Produce high quality 3D BIM models in line with project standards and BIM execution plans
• Deliver accurate 2D coordination and installation drawings for site teams and subcontractors
• Run regular clash detection using Navisworks or similar software and manage clash reports
• Maintain and update federated models daily on live Data Centre construction projects
• Support the BIM Lead and MEP Coordination team with design reviews and technical input
• Attend and contribute to coordination meetings with consultants, subcontractors and project stakeholders
• Carry out site surveys, verification and point cloud scanning where required
• Assist with total station set out activities linked to coordinated models
• Maintain drawing registers and document control standards to ensure version accuracy
• Support tender stage modelling and technical input when required
About You
• Degree qualified in Engineering, Architecture, Building Services or a related discipline
• Minimum two years experience working as a BIM Engineer or MEP Coordinator
• Strong working knowledge of Revit, Plant 3D, CADWorx and Navisworks
• Experience delivering BIM on Data Centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or other mission critical projects is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of MEP systems and their coordination within complex buildings
• Organised and capable of working to tight project deadlines without compromising quality
• Confident communicator able to explain technical coordination challenges clearly
• Detail focused with a proactive approach to problem solving
• Commercially aware and understands the impact of effective BIM on cost and programme
