The Company

This specialist engineering contractor delivers complex energy, power generation and industrial infrastructure projects across Ireland and mainland Europe. With a strong reputation for technical delivery and long-term client relationships, they operate across sectors including data centres, renewables, utilities and heavy industrial installations.

Their Tyrone office acts as a key commercial and operational hub, supporting projects across several European locations. The business has continued to grow steadily through repeat work, strong programme delivery and a practical approach to project management.


The Role: Commercial Manager

This Commercial Manager role will be based primarily from the company’s office in Co Tyrone with some travel to project sites across Europe as required.

You will lead the commercial function across multiple live engineering and infrastructure projects, working closely with operational teams, project managers and senior leadership to ensure strong commercial performance throughout the full project lifecycle.

The Commercial Manager will oversee cost control, subcontractor management, contract administration and commercial reporting while supporting programme delivery on technically complex projects in live industrial environments.

This is a senior role with significant involvement in client engagement, commercial strategy and project risk management across international projects.


Must Have Requirements

• Must have proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction, engineering, M&E or industrial projects
• Experience with contract administration and commercial management on large scale projects is required
• Proven experience required managing subcontractors, variations and commercial reporting
• Must be willing to travel to project sites across Europe as required
• Experience working with a contractor delivering complex technical projects is essential

Preferred Experience

• Experience on energy, utilities, industrial or data centre projects preferred
• NEC, FIDIC or bespoke contract experience beneficial
• Strong understanding of programme delivery and project risk management
• Previous experience managing commercial teams across multiple projects advantageous

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of multiple engineering and infrastructure projects
• Oversee project budgets, forecasting, valuations and cost reporting
• Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation and commercial performance
• Monitor project variations, claims and contractual compliance
• Support operational teams to ensure projects are delivered commercially and on programme
• Prepare monthly commercial reports for senior management
• Work closely with project delivery teams across Ireland and Europe
• Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Attend client and subcontractor meetings both in Co Tyrone and on site across Europe
• Ensure strong financial control across all project stages

About You

• Strong commercial background within construction, engineering or industrial contracting
• Confident managing large project values and complex subcontract packages
• Commercially aware with strong negotiation and analytical skills
• Comfortable working across multiple projects and travelling when required
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management ability
• Organised, detail focused and capable of operating at senior management level
• Strong understanding of project delivery within live industrial or technical environments
• Able to work closely with operational teams to drive commercial performance
