The Role – Commissioning Engineer
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will take responsibility for delivering the full commissioning process across electrical infrastructure projects, from initial handover through to final completion and documentation.
You will work across high voltage and medium voltage systems, ensuring all equipment is tested, validated and handed over in line with project, safety and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Salary: €60,000 – €80,000 (DOE)

The Role – Commissioning Engineer
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will take responsibility for delivering the full commissioning process across electrical infrastructure projects, from initial handover through to final completion and documentation.
You will work across high voltage and medium voltage systems, ensuring all equipment is tested, validated and handed over in line with project, safety and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out commissioning of medium and high voltage equipment including switchgear, transformers, protection relays and power systems.
- Program, test and validate relay protection schemes including I/O, settings and logic.
- Develop and implement commissioning procedures, test plans and documentation.
- Perform Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests and cold commissioning activities.
- Review design, construction and as-built drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Identify and communicate critical commissioning requirements across project teams.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors and site teams to ensure safe and efficient delivery.
- Record, track and report non-conformances and commissioning data.
- Support continuous improvement of commissioning processes and quality systems.
- Ensure all documentation is completed, signed off and included in final O&M handover packs.
- Electrical engineering background with HV or MV project experience.
- Proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer within power, utilities or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of protection, automation and control systems.
- Experience working with transformers, switchgear and relay protection.
- Confident reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving ability in high-pressure site environments.
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Comfortable working on site and representing the company with clients.
Salary: €60,000 – €80,000 (DOE)
