Construction Estimator - Limerick

You are an experienced Construction Estimator ready to take the lead on pricing, tender preparation and cost analysis for a diverse range of building projects in the Limerick region. Working with a well-established main contractor delivering commercial, industrial and residential developments, you will play a key role in securing new work and ensuring the commercial success of upcoming projects.

This role is suited to a driven estimator with strong construction sector experience who is looking to join a progressive company with a solid pipeline of projects throughout Munster and the wider region.

Estimator – Skills & Experience

• Proven estimating experience within the construction sector — commercial, industrial or mixed-use projects.
  
  
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, subcontractor packages and cost breakdowns.
  
  
• Ability to complete detailed take-offs, cost plans, bills of quantities and tender submissions.
  
  
• Proficient in estimating software, cost databases and Microsoft Excel.
  
  
• Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to analyse drawings, specifications and tender documents.
  
  
• Excellent negotiation skills with confidence in engaging subcontractors and suppliers.
  
  
• High attention to detail with strong organisational and documentation skills.
  
  
• A collaborative team player with excellent communication abilities across design, commercial and project teams.
  
  

As an Estimator, you will:

• Prepare accurate cost estimates, tender submissions and pricing documents for building projects across Munster.
  
  
• Review drawings, specifications and scope documents to determine project requirements.
  
  
• Conduct detailed material and labour take-offs and develop competitive cost plans.
  
  
• Manage subcontractor engagement, obtaining quotations and ensuring competitive pricing.
  
  
• Work closely with project management, design and commercial teams during pre-construction.
  
  
• Evaluate project risks, value-engineering opportunities and programme impacts.
  
  
• Prepare tender clarifications, attend pre-tender meetings and support bid presentations.
  
  
• Maintain cost databases, historical rates and documentation for ongoing commercial improvement.
  
  
• Support the commercial team with post-tender negotiations and handover to project delivery teams.
