Electrical Design Engineer Skills:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 1+ years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer (desirable).
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD.
- Strong technical ability, teamwork skills, and initiative.
- Excellent written, verbal, and numerical skills.
- Previous Irish experience
As an Electrical Design Engineer:
- Gain hands-on experience in planning, managing, and delivering works safely, sustainably, and to the highest quality standards.
- Promote and embed a strong “Never Harm” culture across all project activities, encouraging engagement with the CPD programme.
- Prepare, review, and update risk assessments.
- Ensure all works comply with health, safety, and other relevant legislation.
- Design HV/MV substations and control/protection systems.
- Produce technical drawings including SLDs, layouts, and schematics.
- Develop detailed designs for high and low voltage equipment, along with associated control and protection systems.
- Prepare and interpret technical specifications and enquiry documentation.
- Ensure all designs meet relevant standards and client requirements.
- Liaise and coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical and contractual documentation.
- Track progress against project programmes and prepare progress reports.
- Produce method statements and risk assessments for specific activities.
- Carry out accurate setting out and dimensional control of works.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues at all stages.
