The Role Electrical Engineer
As Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, coordination and delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects across the Southwest. Based from the Charleville office with regular site visits, you will be involved from detailed design through to commissioning and handover.
This is a hands on project engineering role where you will take ownership of LV electrical systems, control systems and instrumentation within treatment plants and pumping stations. You will work closely with civil, mechanical and process teams to ensure seamless integration and high quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Health and Safety
• Ensure all electrical works comply with current electrical regulations and site safety standards
• Promote a strong safety culture across design and site activities
Design and Technical Delivery
• Design and specify electrical systems for wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations
• Prepare load schedules, single line diagrams, cable schedules and electrical layouts
• Complete cable sizing calculations and develop commissioning plans
• Review P and IDs, schematics and wiring diagrams for system integration
• Develop control philosophies and system architecture for plant upgrades and new builds
Project Coordination
• Coordinate with mechanical, civil and process engineers to integrate electrical systems
• Attend design and progress meetings with internal teams and clients
• Prepare and submit technical documentation for client approval
Installation and Commissioning
• Conduct site surveys and assess existing electrical installations
• Supervise installation of panels, MCCs, motors, VSDs, lighting and instrumentation
• Support testing, commissioning and final handover of electrical systems
Procurement and Reporting
• Source and order electrical equipment in line with programme requirements
• Track progress and provide technical updates to the project management team
About You
• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or similar
• 2 to 3 years experience in electrical engineering within water, wastewater or industrial projects
• Strong knowledge of LV electrical systems and control systems
• Good understanding of instrumentation and process integration
• Experience preparing electrical drawings, specifications and calculations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Detail focused with a strong commitment to safety and quality
• Motivated to develop your career within the water and utilities sector
