The Role – Electrical Engineer
This role combines electrical design and project delivery within the water and wastewater sector, offering full involvement from initial site assessments through to commissioning and handover.
You will take ownership of electrical packages across treatment and infrastructure projects, ensuring all works are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest standards. The position suits an Electrical Engineer who enjoys working across both design and site environments, particularly on critical utility projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage electrical projects across water and wastewater treatment facilities
- Support tendering activities and provide technical input on electrical scope
- Coordinate subcontractors, commissioning teams and in-house electricians
- Oversee site works ensuring safety, quality and programme targets are achieved
- Develop RAMS, commissioning plans, test packs and handover documentation
- Monitor project progress and report on delivery against programme
- Conduct site surveys and assess existing electrical infrastructure
- Produce electrical designs including single line diagrams and specifications
- Review and approve control panel schematics and vendor documentation
- Complete cable calculations, schedules and routing layouts
- Attend client design reviews and project progress meetings
- Ensure all work complies with ETCI regulations and industry standards
- Degree or trade background in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Experience delivering projects within water, wastewater, utilities or industrial sectors
- Strong understanding of LV power distribution and electrical systems design
- Experience producing technical documentation and design reports
- Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate site activities
- Strong knowledge of ETCI regulations and electrical standards
- Excellent time management with the ability to work independently
- Full clean Irish driving licence
- Experience with medium voltage distribution or backup power systems
- Exposure to PLC, SCADA or telemetry systems within water or utilities projects
- Background in control panel design, automation or process systems
Salary: €55,000 to €75,000 DOE
