Based in either Co. Kildare or Dublin, you will play a critical role in the pre-construction phase, ensuring the commercial competitiveness and technical accuracy of tenders and project costings.

Working across a diverse portfolio, including energy infrastructure, transportation systems, water treatment, and natural resource facilities, as an Electrical Estimator you will be instrumental in supporting the growth of engineering and construction operations in Ireland and beyond.

You will be joining one of Ireland’s leading multidisciplinary engineering and construction contractors, whose business delivers essential infrastructure across a wide range of critical sectors.

Electrical Estimator Skills:
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within heavy industrial or infrastructure sectors such as transportation, energy, water, or natural resources.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and construction methods.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and tools (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
  • Relevant technical qualification or certification in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices related to electrical construction projects.

As an Electrical Estimator:
  • Prepare detailed and accurate electrical cost estimates for a wide range of infrastructure projects within the transportation, natural resources, energy, and water sectors.
  • Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and ensure completeness of estimates.
  • Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans in cost estimates.
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards.
  • Maintain and update estimating databases and historical cost data for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in bid review meetings and assist in developing strategies to win new contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the estimating process.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements to improve estimation accuracy and efficiency.

The Package:

Salary will be DOE, but you can expect a salary of at least €70,000 plus package.
