Electrical Estimator – Data Centre Construction

The Company
This international engineering and construction contractor delivers complex design and build projects across the data centre, pharmaceutical, food production, logistics, and advanced manufacturing sectors throughout Europe.
With a rapidly growing portfolio of hyperscale data centre projects across Germany and mainland Europe, the company continues to expand its pre-construction team and is now seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join its Frankfurt office.
The Role: Electrical Estimator
The Electrical Estimator will play a key role in the successful tendering and pre-construction delivery of large-scale data centre and mission critical projects.
Working closely with design teams, procurement teams, subcontractors, and senior management, you will prepare detailed electrical estimates, review technical specifications, assess project risks, and support the development of commercially competitive tender submissions.
This role is ideally suited to an Electrical Estimator with experience pricing complex electrical building services and infrastructure packages within the construction sector.
Must Have Requirements
You are an experienced Electrical Estimator with a strong understanding of electrical building services and infrastructure systems within the construction sector.
You have excellent attention to detail, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to prepare accurate estimates while managing multiple tenders simultaneously.
You are comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with engineering, procurement, design, and project delivery teams to secure major construction projects.

Must Have Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification required
- Proven experience required as an Electrical Estimator within the construction industry
- Strong understanding of electrical building services and infrastructure systems
- Experience pricing electrical packages on large-scale construction projects
- Strong commercial and analytical skills required
- Data centre project experience strongly preferred
- Experience pricing MV/LV distribution systems, UPS systems, standby generation, and busbar systems beneficial
- Experience with Countfire, CostX, Bluebeam, or similar estimating software advantageous
- Mission critical, pharmaceutical, industrial, or infrastructure project experience preferred
- German language skills beneficial but not essential
- Experience working on Design & Build projects
- Knowledge of BIM-based quantity take-offs and model reviews
- Review tender documentation, specifications, drawings, and employer requirements
- Prepare electrical material and subcontractor enquiries
- Produce detailed electrical estimates, cost plans, and tender submissions
- Complete quantity take-offs from drawings and BIM models
- Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations from both technical and commercial perspectives
- Attend tender review meetings, design workshops, and value engineering sessions
- Identify project risks and opportunities throughout the tender process
- Develop value engineering proposals and alternative technical solutions
- Prepare tender clarifications, assumptions, and exclusions
- Support design development to ensure accurate pricing information is available
- Review electrical infrastructure including MV/LV systems, UPS systems, generators, containment, lighting, ICT, security, BMS, earthing, and lightning protection systems
- Attend site visits and surveys where required
- Maintain tender risk registers and commercial records
- Present tender submissions to senior management teams
- Support project handover to delivery teams following successful contract awards
- Mentor and support junior estimators where required
