You are an Electrical Project Engineer looking to join a busy power and renewables team with a strong pipeline of work secured for the next 5+ years based out of Glasgow. Electrical Project Engineer Skills:
- A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Electrical Engineering.
- At least 2 years’ experience in engineering design/project management on industrial installation projects.
- Strong knowledge of HV and MV network requirements in industrial environments.
- Experience with energy management systems and integration of automated controls.
- A proven record of delivering projects to budget and on time.
- Strong IT and project management software skills (AutoCAD, MS Project, etc.).
- A flexible, delivery-focused mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills – confident working with teams and clients.
- Ability to lead, influence, and mentor others while keeping safety and quality at the forefront.
As an Electrical Porject Engineer:
- Support projects from design to delivery, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Review and modify working drawings, prepare design drawings for HV and LV equipment, and produce as-built documentation.
- Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and project teams on both technical and commercial matters.
- Prepare O&M manuals, method statements, risk assessments, and test packs.
- Manage requisitions, purchase orders, and site deliveries.
- Take responsibility for quality control through inspections, snagging, and sign-off of systems.
- Prepare project schedules, material take-offs, and tender packages.
- Carry out electrical design work including wiring schematics, lighting calculations, and cable sizing.
- Assist with procurement, contract variations, and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Ensure all work complies with the latest building regulations, electrical standards, and safety requirements.
- Supervise subcontractors and mentor junior engineers where required.
