Electrical Project Manager | Building Services / MEP Projects
Location: Kettering, UK
Employer: Leading mechanical and electrical contractor delivering complex industrial, pharmaceutical and data centre projects
Salary: £75,000 to £90,000 DOE plus bonus, car allowance and benefits
The Company This opportunity is with a well established building services contractor with over 40 years of experience delivering large scale mechanical and electrical projects across the UK and Europe. Their portfolio includes data centres, pharmaceutical facilities, industrial plants, healthcare and major commercial developments.
They are known for delivering technically demanding MEP projects to a high standard, with a strong focus on quality, safety and long term client relationships. With continued growth across the UK market, they have a strong pipeline of work in the Midlands and surrounding regions.
The Role | Electrical Project Manager As Electrical Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the electrical package on a major building services project in Kettering. You will lead delivery from early stages through to commissioning and handover, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme and to specification.
You will work closely with site teams, subcontractors and clients, managing all aspects of electrical installation, coordination and reporting. This role suits someone with strong MEP experience who is comfortable leading projects and driving delivery on site.
Key Responsibilities • Lead electrical project delivery from pre construction through to commissioning and handover
• Attend project start up meetings and take ownership of scope, programme and technical requirements
• Manage and track technical submittals through to approval
• Raise and manage RFIs and coordinate with design teams and consultants
• Oversee labour planning and track site resources
• Maintain and update weekly progress reports, highlighting risks and variations
• Liaise with main contractor, client representatives and project stakeholders
• Ensure materials, plant and equipment are available in line with programme
• Develop and manage construction and commissioning programmes
• Drive snagging, quality close out and handover processes
• Manage project documentation and maintain document control systems
• Chair subcontractor meetings and ensure works are progressing to programme
• Identify improvements and support efficient project delivery
About You • Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager within building services or MEP contracting
• Strong track record delivering large scale electrical packages on commercial, industrial, pharma or data centre projects
• Electrical trade or degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management
• Experience managing subcontractors, site teams and multiple stakeholders
• Strong understanding of installation, testing, commissioning and handover processes
• Commercial awareness with experience managing variations and reporting
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities on live projects
