As an Electrical Quantity Surveyor you will support the commercial delivery of high-voltage electrical projects, particularly in areas such as substations, switchgear installations, and cable works. Based in Glasgow, you’ll focus on cost control, contract administration, valuations, and financial management to ensure projects are delivered cost-effectively.

Electrical Quantity Surveyor Skills:
- Degree in Construction Economics / Quantity Surveying (or similar).
- A technical background as an Electrician, Instrumentation Technician, or Electrical Engineer is desirable but not essential.
- Experience in a similar role or work placement is an advantage.
- Strong Excel skills and knowledge of contract conditions.
- Excellent communication, record-keeping, and organisational abilities.
- A clear understanding of contract obligations and claims management.
- Ability to formulate and present comprehensive claims covering dayworks, unit rate work, and contract variations.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify material or labour escalations.
As an Electrical Quantity Surveyor:
- Prepare and manage budgets, reports, BOQs, and profit plans.
- Lead interim commercial meetings with clients and project teams; provide detailed reporting to the Project Manager on project financial status.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations, and final accounts, ensuring payment processing aligns with agreed terms.
- Issue interim and final accounts, progress applications, and ensure monthly applications include accurate remeasures, site changes, dayworks, and contract claims.
- Identify commercial risks and escalate promptly to senior management.
- Work closely with Planning Engineers to align scheduling with commercial requirements.
- Negotiate with clients and representatives where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records and provide detailed backup for commercial tracking and costing.
- Demonstrate initiative, prioritisation skills, and strong attention to accuracy.
- Set a positive example of professionalism, dedication, and hard work.
The Package:
Salary will be DOE, but you can expect a salary of at least £55,000 plus package.
