The Role – Environmental Officer
This is a key role within the organisation, supporting environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives across multiple construction projects. Based in Galway with regular site visits, you will play a central part in ensuring projects meet environmental standards, regulatory requirements, and company sustainability targets.
You will work closely with project teams, commercial departments, and external stakeholders to embed best practice environmental performance across all stages of construction.
Key Responsibilities
Salary: €60,000 – €65,000 (DOE)

You will work closely with project teams, commercial departments, and external stakeholders to embed best practice environmental performance across all stages of construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and improve environmental performance across multiple active construction sites
- Support site teams in implementing best practice environmental controls and mitigation measures
- Conduct regular site inspections and provide guidance on environmental risks and improvements
- Assist project teams in achieving sustainability targets and reducing environmental impact
- Track and report on environmental KPIs, identifying trends and areas for improvement
- Provide support and training to site personnel on environmental awareness and compliance
- Assist in the preparation of environmental documentation for project delivery and handover
- Collaborate with design and commercial teams to integrate sustainable solutions into projects
- Ensure effective management of materials, resources, and waste streams on site
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across environmental and sustainability performance
- Degree qualified in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an environmental role, ideally within construction or infrastructure
- Strong understanding of environmental legislation and compliance requirements in Ireland
- Experience working on construction or civil engineering projects is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational and reporting skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with site teams and stakeholders
- Proactive, solutions-focused, and detail-oriented
- Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel to sites
