Estimator – Civil & Utilities You are an experienced Estimator ready to take ownership of tender preparation, cost analysis and bid delivery for major civil engineering and utilities projects across Ireland. Working with a leading infrastructure contractor specialising in water, wastewater, pipelines, utilities and civil works, you will play a key role in securing high-value projects and ensuring accurate, competitive and commercially robust submissions.
This role is suited to a motivated Estimator or Quantity Surveyor with strong civils/utilities experience who is looking to join a progressive organisation with a consistent pipeline of complex infrastructure projects nationwide.

Estimator – Skills & Experience
- Degree or higher qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
- 3–7 years’ experience in estimating, tendering or cost management for civil engineering or utilities projects.
- Strong understanding of wastewater, water mains, pipelines, utilities, groundworks and general civils.
- Proven experience preparing detailed BoQs, cost plans and tender submissions.
- Strong understanding of labour, plant and material cost inputs.
- Working knowledge of estimating software (e.g., Buildsoft, Candy, Excel-based systems).
- Excellent commercial awareness, analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities and tender submissions for civil & utilities projects.
- Analyse drawings, specifications, scope and tender documents to identify key cost drivers and risks.
- Lead the compilation of tender packages including pricing, methodology, programme and value engineering.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers and site teams to obtain accurate production data and cost inputs.
- Source and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations, ensuring competitiveness and compliance.
- Develop and maintain cost databases, benchmarking information and historical project cost records.
- Prepare preliminary risk assessments and support commercial decision-making at bid stage.
- Assist in tender clarifications, post-tender negotiations and handover to delivery teams.
- Support the development of project budgets, cashflows and financial forecasts.
- Drive cost efficiency, innovation and continuous improvement across the estimating function.
- Prepare tender reports, bid summaries and supporting documentation for senior management review.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure timely tender delivery.
- €55,000 – €70,000 DOE (depending on experience and project background)
