Job title: Finance Controller – Construction / Concrete Operations
Location: Kildare, Co Kildare
Company: Well-established concrete business operating across Ireland, the UK and Europe.
Package: €80,000 to €85,000 package
The Company
This well established construction business specialises in the supply, installation and operation of concrete batching plants for major projects across Ireland, the UK and Europe.
Based in Co Kildare, the Irish operation forms part of a wider international construction group with businesses across Ireland, the UK and Portugal. With continued growth planned across Europe, they are now looking for an experienced Finance Controller to take ownership of the finance function and support the next stage of the business.
The Role:
Finance Controller based in Co Kildare, the Finance Controller will take responsibility for the day to day control, reporting and compliance requirements of the business.
Working closely with senior management and Group Finance, you will oversee monthly reporting, cashflow, budgeting, forecasting, tax compliance and internal controls. This is a hands on role with good exposure to the wider business and its European operations.

About You
You will be a qualified accountant with 5+ years’ relevant finance experience and previous Finance Controller or senior finance responsibility.
A construction background is required, along with a strong understanding of cashflow, reporting, compliance, budgeting and controls. You should be comfortable working independently, dealing with senior management and taking ownership of the finance function in a growing business.

Must Have Requirements
- Must be a qualified accountant, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- Must have 5+ years’ relevant accounting and finance experience, including Finance Controller or similar senior finance responsibility
- Experience working within the construction sector is required
- Strong knowledge of statements, general ledger, month end and year end processes
- Experience with UK VAT and CIS is required
Preferred Experience
- Experience within a growing construction, engineering or construction materials business
- Strong Excel and reporting systems knowledge
- ERP implementation or systems improvement experience beneficial
- Exposure to multi jurisdiction or international operations would be an advantage
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly statements and management reporting
- Manage ledger reconciliations, cashflow and invoice controls
- Prepare VAT, RCT and CIS submissions along with other statutory and tax filings
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Review actual performance against budgets and targets
- Maintain effective controls and risk management processes
- Support annual audits and implement recommendations
- Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations
- Provide analysis for investment and business decisions
- Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes
