Job title: Health & Safety Advisor – Residential Construction

The Company
This Irish main contractor has a strong track record delivering residential, commercial and mixed-use construction projects across Cork and the wider Irish market.
They are currently delivering a significant multi storey residential development in Cork City, involving demolition works followed by the construction of two apartment blocks with associated retail, resident amenity, public realm and site infrastructure works.
The Role: Health & Safety Advisor
As Health & Safety Advisor, you will be based on this major residential project in Cork City, working closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, subcontractors and wider construction team.
The project involves multi storey apartment construction alongside demolition, structural, building services and external works, giving you good exposure across different stages of a large residential build.
You will maintain a strong day to day presence on site, ensuring works are planned and carried out safely while supporting the project team with risk assessments, permits, inspections and Health & Safety reporting.
Must Have Requirements
You will have at least 3 years’ experience as a Health & Safety Advisor within construction and be comfortable operating independently on a busy building project.
You should understand how a large residential site operates and be confident dealing with Site Managers, Engineers, subcontractors and operatives on a day to day basis.
A practical approach is important. You will need to identify issues early, communicate clearly and work with the construction team to maintain strong safety standards while keeping works moving.

- Experience across demolition, structural and fit out stages beneficial
- Strong working knowledge of risk assessments, method statements and permit systems
- Carry out site inspections, audits and Health & Safety reporting
- Review RAMS, permits and subcontractor safety documentation
- Support inductions, toolbox talks and site safety briefings
- Investigate incidents, near misses and close out corrective actions
- Work with site management and subcontractors to maintain safe working practice
