The Company
This established civil engineering contractor is delivering road realignment, greenway and transport infrastructure works across North Dublin and Louth, alongside a wider portfolio of civil engineering projects across the Leinster region.
For a Health & Safety Advisor with 2–4 years’ experience, this is an opportunity to join an experienced project team and develop your career while gaining exposure to active roads, transport infrastructure, groundworks and associated civil engineering works.
The Role: Health & Safety Advisor
This Health & Safety Advisor role will be based across projects in North Dublin and Louth, with some flexibility required to travel between sites.
You will work closely with Site Managers, Engineers, subcontractors and construction teams, taking responsibility for day-to-day Health & Safety across live civil engineering works.
The position would suit someone who has developed enough site experience to operate independently without requiring significant day-to-day support, but who is not yet looking for a senior-level Health & Safety position.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
You will be a Health & Safety Advisor who is comfortable being out on site, engaging directly with construction teams and taking ownership of day-to-day Health & Safety requirements.
You should be confident carrying out inspections, reviewing RAMS and risk assessments, delivering toolbox talks and addressing Health & Safety issues directly with site management and subcontractors.
This would particularly suit an Advisor with 2–4 years’ experience who wants to build their career within civil engineering and gain further exposure to road and transport infrastructure projects.

Salary: €60,000 – €65,000 DOE, vehicle or vehicle allowance, up to 12% pension contribution, healthcare allowance, company bonus and Death in Service benefit.

- Carry out regular site inspections and audits across road and civil engineering works
- Work with Site Managers, Engineers and subcontractors to maintain strong Health & Safety standards
- Review RAMS, risk assessments, method statements and relevant site documentation
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Identify hazards and non-compliance and ensure corrective actions are closed out
- Assist with incident reporting while promoting a positive Health & Safety culture across the sites
- 2–4 years’ experience in a site-based Health & Safety role
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification
- Good knowledge of Irish construction Health & Safety legislation and site procedures
- Ability to work independently and confidently engage with site teams and subcontractors
- Full driving licence
- Must be flexible to work across sites in North Dublin and Louth
- Civil engineering or main contractor background preferred
- Roads and transport infrastructure experience beneficial
- Groundworks, utilities or other heavy civil engineering experience advantageous
- Experience working directly with Site Managers, Engineers and subcontractors
