This established mechanical contractor has built a strong reputation across the commercial, industrial, healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, delivering mechanical services projects throughout Ireland.
Based in Co Mayo, they continue to secure repeat business through quality delivery, strong technical expertise and a practical approach to project execution. With a growing order book and a steady pipeline of work, they are now looking to appoint a Junior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to support their pre-construction and commercial teams.
The Role: Junior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a graduate or junior construction professional to develop a career within mechanical building services estimating and quantity surveying.
Working alongside experienced estimators and senior management, you will be involved in the preparation of competitive tenders for a wide range of mechanical services projects. You will review drawings and specifications, complete take-offs, obtain supplier quotations and assist with tender submissions while gaining valuable commercial and technical experience.
The successful Junior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor will also have opportunities to attend site visits and client meetings as their experience develops.

Salary: €35,000 to €45,000 DOE

Must Have Requirements
- Must have a Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering disciplin
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel is require
- Strong numerical and analytical skils
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
- Full right to work in Ireland
- Some experience in an estimating, quantity surveying or construction-related role
- Experience working within a mechanical, M&E or contracting environment
- Knowledge of construction drawings and technical specifications
- Familiarity with procurement and supplier engagement
- Experience using estimating software
- Knowledge of piping and ventilation systems
- Experience using MS Project
- Understanding of mechanical building services projects
- Review construction drawings and specification documents for tender opportunities
- Carry out quantity take-offs for piping and ventilation ductwork systems
- Obtain and review quotations from suppliers and equipment manufacturers
- Enter quantities, rates and pricing information into estimating software
- Assist in preparing and issuing tender submissions and supporting documentation
- Support value engineering exercises where opportunities arise
- Attend site visits and client meetings as required
- Maintain tender registers and work-in-progress schedules
- Issue quotation requests to suppliers and subcontractors
- Manage tender filing, document control and record keeping
- Update estimating systems with revised pricing information
- Assist the commercial and estimating teams on multiple tenders and projects
- Ambitious and motivated to build a career in estimating or quantity surveying
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Comfortable working with technical drawings and project documentation
- Commercially aware with an interest in project costs and procurement
- Highly organised with a methodical approach to work
- Keen to learn from experienced industry professionals
- Able to manage deadlines and prioritise workload effectively
