Job title: Junior Health & Safety Advisor – Civils/Utilities

The Company
This Irish main contractor is delivering a busy programme of civil engineering and utility projects across Dublin and the wider Leinster region.
With approximately eight crews operating across different sites each week, they are looking for a Junior Health & Safety Advisor to support their project teams and maintain strong safety standards across their Dublin operations.
The Role: Junior Health & Safety Advisor
As Junior Health & Safety Advisor, you will be based on the company’s Co Meath office with regular travel to active utility projects across Dublin. The contractor currently has approximately eight crews working across different sites each week, alongside a larger utility project in Leopardstown, South Dublin.This role will suit somebody with around 1 to 3 years’ Health & Safety experience who wants to build strong site experience across civil engineering and utilities projects.
You will work closely with Project Managers, supervisors and site crews, carrying out inspections, supporting site documentation and helping ensure works are completed safely and in line with company procedures.
Must Have Requirements
• Must have at least 1 year of Health & Safety experience within construction
• Relevant Health & Safety qualification required
• Must be flexible to travel regularly to sites across Dublin
• Good understanding of construction site Health & Safety requirements
Preferred Experience
• Civil engineering or utilities experience preferred
• Experience working across multiple live construction sites beneficial
• Experience with RAMS, toolbox talks and site inspections beneficial
• Strong communication and reporting skills
Key Responsibilities
• Support Health & Safety across utility projects throughout Dublin
• Carry out regular site inspections and identify potential safety issues
• Work closely with Project Managers, supervisors and site crews
• Support site inductions, toolbox talks and Health & Safety documentation
• Assist with RAMS and site safety requirements
• Maintain accurate inspection records and H&S reporting
• Follow up on actions identified during site inspections
• Promote good Health & Safety practices across the different site crews
About You
You will have at least 1 year of experience in a construction Health & Safety role and be looking to develop your career within civil engineering and utilities, You will be comfortable spending time out on site, communicating directly with crews and travelling between multiple projects across Dublin. A practical approach is important. You should be confident dealing with people on site and able to identify issues, communicate them clearly and follow through on any actions required.
