As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you’ll be responsible for providing technical leadership on projects from tender stage right through to commissioning and energisation based in Co Dublin or Co Limerick. The focus will be on M&E installations, with particular emphasis on HV electrical elements, but you’ll also be part of the wider Power & Renewables engineering team, gaining exposure to electrical installations up to 400kV.

You are someone who is adaptable, commercially sharp, and technically strong, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and guide a team through the full project lifecycle.

Lead Electrical Engineer Skills:  
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • At least 5 years’ experience in engineering design and project management within industrial installations.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HV and MV networks in industrial settings.
  • Background in energy management systems and integrating automated controls to electrical networks.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent IT skills, communication, and leadership ability.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, commercially aware, and delivery-focused.
  • Committed to quality, safety, and process-driven work.
  • Natural mentor and coach for junior engineers and graduates.

As a Lead Electrical Engineer:  
  • Lead the engineering delivery of HV substation projects.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure technical compliance.
  • Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
  • Support procurement with scopes of work and vendor evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant standards (IEC, IEEE, EN etc.) and regulatory requirements.
  • Carry out site inspections, FATs, and support commissioning.
  • Provide technical input during installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, resolving technical issues proactively.
  • Mentor and lead a small team of engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Flag resourcing requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects.

The Package:

Salary will be DOE, but you can expect a salary of at least €85,000 plus package.
