The Company
This established Irish main contractor has a strong presence across Cork and the wider Munster region, delivering commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, residential and public sector construction projects.
The company has built its reputation around quality delivery, experienced site teams and a practical approach to managing projects. With a healthy pipeline of work across Cork and Munster, they are now looking to appoint an M&E Coordinator to strengthen their building services capability.
The Role: M&E Coordinator
Based on projects in Cork, the M&E Coordinator will take responsibility for coordinating the mechanical and electrical services from design development through installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
Working closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, design team and specialist M&E subcontractors, you will ensure building services are properly coordinated with the construction programme and architectural and structural elements of the project.
You will be involved in resolving technical issues, reviewing drawings and submittals, monitoring installation quality and keeping the M&E packages moving in line with programme.
Must Have Requirements
You will have a solid mechanical, electrical or building services background with practical experience coordinating M&E packages on construction projects.
You should be comfortable dealing directly with subcontractors, consultants and site management and have a good understanding of how building services integrate with the wider construction programme.
Strong organisation and communication skills are important, along with the ability to spot coordination issues early and drive solutions on site.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have previous experience in an M&E Coordinator, Building Services Coordinator, M&E Engineer or similar construction role
- Proven experience required coordinating mechanical and electrical services on building projects
- Strong understanding of M&E installations, drawings, specifications and construction sequencing
- Must be comfortable coordinating specialist subcontractors within a main contractor environment
- Main contractor experience in Ireland preferred
- Commercial, healthcare, education, industrial or public sector project experience beneficial
- Experience with BIM coordination, Procore, Dalux or similar construction software beneficial
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical subcontractors across live construction projects
- Review M&E drawings, specifications, technical submittals and coordinated services information
- Work closely with the design team to identify and resolve clashes or technical issues before installation
- Monitor M&E works against the construction programme and flag potential delays
- Coordinate services with architectural, structural and other construction packages
- Attend design, coordination and progress meetings
- Monitor installation quality and ensure works are completed to specification
- Support inspections, testing, commissioning and project handover
- Maintain accurate M&E records, RFIs, technical submissions and commissioning documentation
- Liaise with the Project Manager and Site Manager on programme, access, sequencing and subcontractor performance
- Ensure M&E works are carried out safely and in line with project requirements
