I’m looking for a driven and commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of Mechanical and Electrical commercial delivery across a range of projects based out of Co Kildare or Co Dublin.
This role involves overseeing all commercial aspects from procurement through to final accounts, ensuring strong cost control, contractual compliance, and a proactive approach to risk management.
The position requires someone with solid technical and commercial experience who can contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team environment, ensuring each project is delivered to the highest standard of quality, safety, and efficiency.

M&E Quantity Surveyor Skills:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
- Working towards chartered status (MRICS or equivalent).
- Proven Irish experience managing Mechanical & Electrical packages and subcontractors.
- Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract and standard methods of measurement.
- Experience in civil, electrical, and renewable energy projects, including cabling and remeasurable works.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Commercially astute with strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Full driving licence required.
As a M&E Quantity Surveyor:
- Support the Managing QS across all commercial aspects of multiple projects.
- Prepare and manage valuations, applications for payment, cost reports, and change documentation in line with contract requirements.
- Oversee subcontract and material procurement schedules, ensuring timely and accurate administration from requisition through to final account agreement.
- Take ownership of contract administration, including change control, variations, and maintaining relevant registers.
- Manage and mitigate project risks while identifying opportunities for value engineering and cost improvements.
- Ensure that all commercial records, WBS structures, and cost-to-complete reports are accurately maintained and up to date.
- Assist with forecasting, margin improvement planning, and cash flow management.
- Promote a strong culture of commercial awareness and accountability within the team.
- Mentor and guide junior staff, supporting their professional development and ensuring clear delegation of responsibilities.
- Encourage consistent application of company procedures and commercial best practices across projects.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring a high standard of commercial service delivery and communication.
- Prepare and present detailed cost and progress reports to clients and senior management.
- Participate in client engagement and feedback initiatives to support ongoing improvement.
- Contribute to business improvement and commercial efficiency initiatives.
