The Role – Mechanical Commissioning Engineer
As a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of mechanical systems on a major data centre project. Working closely with the Commissioning Manager and wider project team, you will ensure all systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in line with project specifications, programme requirements, and quality standards.
This is a hands-on site-based role with a strong focus on technical delivery, coordination, and quality assurance throughout the commissioning phase.

Salary: €75,000 – €90,000 (DOE)

Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of the mechanical commissioning strategy and programme
- Monitor mechanical installations to ensure readiness for commissioning and compliance with design specifications
- Witness and oversee FATs, SATs, and IST for mechanical systems including chillers, AHUs, and CRAH units
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and specialist suppliers to ensure timely completion of commissioning activities
- Review and manage commissioning documentation including method statements, risk assessments, and test scripts
- Maintain accurate redline drawings and ensure all handover documentation is completed to a high standard
- Manage and track commissioning snags, driving works to a zero-defect handover
- Attend and contribute to commissioning meetings with project teams, clients, and stakeholders
- Ensure all activities are carried out in line with strict health, safety, and environmental standards
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a relevant trade background with strong engineering experience
- Proven experience in a mechanical commissioning or mechanical engineering role within construction
- Background in data centre, pharmaceutical, or industrial projects is highly desirable
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, plant equipment, and mechanical services
- Experience working in design and build project environments
- Understanding of BMS systems is beneficial
- Excellent organisational, communication, and coordination skills
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, multidisciplinary site teams
- Detail-focused with a strong commitment to quality and programme delivery
Salary: €75,000 – €90,000 (DOE)
