The Role – Mechanical Construction Manager
This is a site-based leadership role overseeing the full mechanical construction scope on a live data centre project. You will take ownership of mechanical installation activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with project managers, commercial teams and subcontractors, you will drive site performance from early mobilisation through to commissioning and handover, ensuring coordination, sequencing and delivery are aligned at every stage.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enforce high standards of health and safety across all mechanical works on site
- Plan and coordinate mechanical installation activities in line with programme milestones
- Manage subcontractors, ensuring performance, quality and compliance with specifications
- Oversee installation of HVAC systems, pipework and mechanical plant
- Monitor progress against programme and manage look-ahead schedules
- Prepare and review method statements and risk assessments
- Ensure all materials and plant meet project specifications and are properly managed on site
- Support commercial activities including variations, valuations and change management
- Maintain accurate reporting and site documentation
- Liaise with client representatives and internal teams on all mechanical aspects of the project
- Mechanical qualification such as BEng, HNC, HND, NVQ, BTEC or City and Guilds
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Construction Manager or similar site leadership role
- Background in mechanical or M&E contracting environments
- Strong experience delivering HVAC, pipework and mechanical systems on large projects
- Data centre or mission-critical project experience is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, planning and labour management
- Commercial awareness with experience supporting project cost control
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to drive site teams
- Detail-focused with a commitment to quality and programme delivery
- EU work authorisation is essential
