A well established Irish engineering and mechanical services company is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter / Supervisor to join their growing operations team across the Munster region. Operating within the water and wastewater sector, the company delivers installation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade works for treatment plants, pumping stations, and industrial process systems.

The Role – Mechanical Maintenance Fitter / Supervisor
This is a hands on Mechanical Maintenance Fitter / Supervisor role involving mechanical installation, repair, servicing, and refurbishment works across water and wastewater treatment facilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining critical infrastructure while also supporting and supervising field teams on maintenance and installation projects.
The role will suit an experienced Mechanical Fitter with strong pump and mechanical maintenance experience who enjoys working independently, solving problems on site, and leading teams when required.

The Role – Mechanical Maintenance Fitter / Supervisor
This is a hands on Mechanical Maintenance Fitter / Supervisor role involving mechanical installation, repair, servicing, and refurbishment works across water and wastewater treatment facilities. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical installation and assembly works on water and wastewater treatment plants
- Complete maintenance, repair, upgrade, and refurbishment works on existing mechanical systems
- Install, inspect, and service pumps, motors, gearboxes, and drive systems
- Work with a variety of pipework systems including PVC, Stainless Steel, and Ductile Iron
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective on site repairs
- Support customers with technical issues and maintenance requirements
- Assist with service sales and spare parts support where required
- Ensure all works are completed in line with Health & Safety regulations and company HSQE procedures
- Complete daily reports, maintenance records, and site documentation
- Follow Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Safe Systems of Work
- Supervise, mentor, and support colleagues with technical issues and training
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and process efficiencies
- Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter or equivalent mechanical qualification
- Strong experience in mechanical maintenance and industrial installation works
- Experience working on pumps, pumping systems, motors, gearboxes, and drive systems
- Water or wastewater industry experience would be highly advantageous
- Good understanding of mechanical fault finding and preventative maintenance
- Comfortable working independently and making decisions on site
- Strong communication and supervisory skills
- Good IT skills with the ability to complete reports and documentation
- Full driving licence required
- Experience with chemical handling would be an advantage
