The Role: Mechanical Project Engineer
Based full-time on site in Milan, you will support the delivery of mechanical packages on a large-scale data centre project from installation through commissioning and handover.
Reporting to the Mechanical Project Manager, you will play a critical role in coordinating design, procurement, installation and quality activities while ensuring programme milestones are achieved.
The successful Mechanical Project Engineer will work closely with subcontractors, BIM teams, consultants and the commercial department to ensure the mechanical installation is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with project requirements.
Must Have Requirements
You will be a practical Mechanical Project Engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges before they impact programme delivery.
You will have experience coordinating mechanical services from design through installation and be comfortable working closely with site teams, consultants and subcontractors.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving are essential. Previous experience on data centre, pharmaceutical or mission critical projects would be highly advantageous.

The Role: Mechanical Project Engineer

Must Have Requirements
- Must have a Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience required as a Mechanical Project Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Building Services Engineer on construction projects
- Experience working with a main contractor or specialist MEP contractor is required
- Strong understanding of mechanical building services installations
- Excellent communication and coordination skills in a live construction environment
- Data centre project experience preferred
- Pharmaceutical or industrial project experience beneficial
- BIM coordination and model review experience
- Knowledge of commissioning and turnover processes
- Experience using File Key, BIM 360, Procore or similar systems
- Previous European project experience
- Commissioning or QA/QC exposure
- Additional safety qualifications
- Knowledge of Lean Construction principles
- Coordinate mechanical design documentation and construction drawings
- Participate in project handover and technical coordination meetings
- Identify and develop value engineering opportunities
- Review technical submittals, specifications and installation drawings
- Coordinate mechanical, electrical, architectural and structural interfaces
- Prepare and manage RFIs to resolve technical queries
- Support procurement activities including purchase orders and equipment tracking
- Assist with commercial reporting, variations and quantity take-offs
- Monitor programme progress and contribute to weekly project reporting
- Prepare method statements and risk assessments
- Coordinate mechanical subcontractors and specialist vendors
- Carry out inspections, snagging and quality control walkdowns
- Support commissioning activities and test pack management
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records
- Ensure compliance with company quality, safety and information management systems
