The Role – Mechanical Project Engineer
This is a hands on project engineering role focused on delivering mechanical and electrical installations within water and wastewater treatment projects. You will take ownership of projects from design coordination through to commissioning and handover, ensuring high standards across safety, quality, and programme delivery.
The role offers a mix of office based engineering and site based project delivery, giving strong exposure to all aspects of M&E project execution in the water industry.

Salary: €50,000 to €65,000 DOE

Key Responsibilities
- Manage water and wastewater treatment and pumping projects from concept to completion
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with health and safety standards and company procedures
- Coordinate mechanical, electrical and ICA installations with minor civil interfaces
- Work closely with design teams to develop efficient and innovative technical solutions
- Support tender submissions with technical input and commercial awareness
- Procure equipment and manage supplier and subcontractor performance
- Develop and manage project programmes from design through to commissioning
- Liaise directly with clients, consultants and key stakeholders
- Oversee site teams and subcontractors to ensure quality and programme targets are met
- Prepare engineering reports, method statements and commissioning documentation
- Manage O&M manuals and ensure full compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering
- Experience in a mechanical and electrical project environment
- Strong interest or background in water or wastewater engineering is advantageous
- Proven ability to manage projects, site teams, or M&E installations
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management ability
- Organised, deadline driven and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Comfortable leading meetings with clients and consulting engineers
- Full clean driving licence
