We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join the team in Mayo to support project delivery. You will play a critical role in cost estimation, tender preparation, contract administration, and financial management of mechanical projects across various sectors.

Mechanical Quantity Surveyor Skills:
  • Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably focusing on mechanical or M&E projects.
  • Proficiency with tendering and cost-control in mechanical engineering contexts.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical services packages: HVAC, plumbing, piping, boilers, chillers, etc.
  • Excellent use of industry standard software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, Excel, Word; familiarity with BIM/MEP packages an advantage).
  • Sound understanding of contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC, bespoke forms), procurement routes, and building regulations practices.

As a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor:
  • Prepare precise mechanical trade-specific cost estimates, bills of quantities, tender submissions, and budgets.
  • Manage full project lifecycle costing: pre-contract cost planning, cost control during delivery, variations, and final account settlements.
  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and mechanical engineering designs to quantify materials and labour costs.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to monitor costs and manage risk.
  • Oversee subcontractor tender evaluation, value engineering, and procurement.
  • Prepare and submit accurate payment applications, progress valuations, and variation claims.
  • Monitor and report on project budgets, forecasts, and cost variances.
  • Provide commercial advice and maintain cost visibility throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain documentation, produce reports, and adhere to company protocols (e.g., ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 standards).
  • Drive proactive identification and implementation of cost- and time-saving measures.
  • Support internal / external audits and review processes as required.


The Package:

Salary will be DOE, but you can expect a salary of at least €75,000 plus package.
