The Role – Mechanical Supervisor
As Mechanical Supervisor, you will take full responsibility for overseeing mechanical building services installation on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
You will coordinate subcontractors and direct labour across HVAC, plumbing and mechanical systems, acting as the link between site teams and senior management. This is a key role in maintaining safety, driving quality control and protecting commercial performance on fast paced construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Health and Safety
• Ensure the safety and health of all personnel on site
• Promote full compliance with the Construction Health and Safety Plan
• Review method statements, risk assessments, SPAs and permit applications
• Attend and contribute to weekly safety and coordination meetings
Programme and Coordination
• Monitor daily site activities to ensure works are delivered in line with programme
• Stay fully informed of planned activities, work methods and labour resources
• Coordinate subcontractors to achieve safety, quality and schedule targets
• Participate in weekly coordination and progress meetings
Quality Control
• Carry out daily inspections of mechanical works to ensure required standards are achieved
• Review and track RFIs, technical submittals and procurement items
• Ensure accurate reporting and documentation through collaboration with document control
• Maintain high standards across HVAC, plumbing and associated mechanical installations
Commercial Awareness
• Understand the contract scope, pricing agreement and construction programme
• Highlight variations, scope changes and potential additional costs to the Contracts Manager
• Ensure any commercially significant correspondence is escalated appropriately
QEHS Management
• Comply with the company Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Management Systems
• Apply QEHS policy statements in all aspects of your work
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and corrective actions
About You
• Trade or mechanical background with strong building services knowledge
• Minimum 5 years’ experience supervising mechanical works on large scale construction projects
• Proven experience managing subcontractors and multi disciplinary teams
• Strong focus on health and safety compliance on live construction sites
• Excellent problem solving and organisational skills
• Clear communicator with strong stakeholder management ability
• Safe Pass and Manual Handling required
• Full clean Irish driving licence
• Additional qualifications in Engineering or Construction Management desirable
