The Company

This leading international main contractor specialises exclusively in the delivery of large-scale turnkey data centre projects across Europe. With a substantial pipeline of mission critical developments currently under construction, the business has established a reputation for delivering technically complex projects safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards.

With continued growth across Iberia, they are seeking an experienced MEP Lead to join a major hyperscale data centre project in Sintra, Lisbon, Portugal. The Role: MEP Lead

Based on site in Sintra, Lisbon, Portugal, the MEP Lead will take overall responsibility for the coordination, management and successful delivery of all mechanical, electrical and plumbing services throughout the project lifecycle.

Reporting to senior project management, you will lead the MEP delivery team, oversee specialist subcontractors and ensure all building services installations are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements. You will play a critical role throughout design coordination, installation, commissioning and final handover on this large-scale data centre project.

Must Have Requirements

• Must have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Must have 10+ years' experience delivering large-scale construction projects with a strong MEP focus.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary MEP teams on major construction projects.
• Experience managing MEP packages from design coordination through commissioning is required.
• Data centre, mission critical or large industrial project experience is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working on hyperscale data centres.
• Strong understanding of commissioning processes and systems integration.
• Experience working with international contractors on complex building services projects.
• Excellent client and consultant management skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience delivering projects across Europe.
• Knowledge of BIM coordination platforms and digital construction tools.
• Additional project management or commissioning qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of all MEP packages throughout design, construction and commissioning.
• Manage MEP engineers, supervisors and specialist subcontractors on site.
• Review design information, technical submissions and method statements.
• Coordinate building services installations with the wider construction team.
• Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout all MEP works.
• Monitor progress against programme and report on key milestones.
• Resolve technical and coordination issues to maintain project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards and company procedures.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and project stakeholders throughout the project.
• Drive commissioning readiness and oversee the successful handover of all MEP systems.

About You

You are an experienced MEP Lead, Senior Building Services Manager or MEP Project Manager with a strong background delivering technically challenging construction projects. You understand the demands of mission critical environments and are confident managing large multidisciplinary teams while maintaining programme, quality and safety standards.

You are organised, commercially aware and comfortable working closely with design teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure successful project delivery from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.
