MEP Lead – Portugal You are an experienced MEP Lead with a strong background in large-scale, mission-critical construction, looking to take ownership of complex data centre projects across Portugal.
This is a senior leadership role with a Tier 1 delivery contractor operating across multiple European jurisdictions. You will lead all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing activities from early design coordination through construction, commissioning, and final handover on high-value data centre developments.

MEP Lead Skills:
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum 10 years’ experience delivering large-scale construction projects with a strong MEP focus
- Proven experience leading and managing multi-disciplinary MEP teams
- Strong technical understanding of MEP systems, design coordination, and installation methodologies
- Experience delivering data centre, mission-critical, or industrial projects is highly advantageous
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to identify and resolve technical and delivery challenges proactively
- Experience working across design, construction, and commissioning phases
- High standards of quality, safety, and compliance
- Lead and coordinate all MEP services across design, construction, and commissioning stages
- Manage and support the MEP project team, including subcontractors, engineers, and site supervision
- Review and approve MEP design documentation, technical submittals, and method statements
- Oversee technical reviews, quality inspections, and progress reporting
- Ensure all works comply with project specifications, safety regulations, and company procedures
- Act as the primary MEP point of contact for clients, consultants, and key stakeholders
- Identify and resolve design or construction issues to maintain programme momentum
- Drive commissioning readiness and ensure smooth handover of all MEP systems
- Support project planning, forecasting, and progress tracking against key milestones
- Ensure all MEP activities are delivered in line with company HSEQ and project safety standards
- Promote a safe, compliant, and quality-driven site culture
- Maintain accurate technical records and reporting throughout the project lifecycle
