The Role – MEP Procurement Lead This is a key position within the preconstruction team, taking full ownership of MEP procurement across major projects in Germany and across Europe.

You will lead the procurement of mechanical and electrical subcontract packages from early tender stage through to award, working closely with estimating, commercial and project delivery teams. The role requires strong technical understanding of MEP systems, the ability to interpret drawings and specifications, and confidence leading tender processes and commercial negotiations.

You will play a critical role in ensuring packages are procured on time, within budget, and aligned with programme and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead procurement of mechanical and electrical subcontract packages across multiple projects
• Support preconstruction teams with market intelligence, pricing trends and procurement strategy
• Carry out take offs and measurements from MEP drawings, schematics and specifications
• Develop procurement schedules aligned with project programmes and delivery milestones
• Prepare and issue RFQs and tender documentation with clear scope definition
• Analyse and level subcontractor quotations, ensuring accurate like for like comparisons
• Produce detailed bid analysis reports and procurement recommendations
• Lead post tender negotiations and drive value engineering opportunities
• Agree commercial terms while managing contractual and commercial risk
• Work closely with project teams to ensure timely package placement
• Build and maintain strong relationships with MEP subcontractors and suppliers
• Monitor supply chain performance, pricing and market conditions
• Maintain accurate procurement reporting and documentation

About You

• Strong background in MEP procurement, buying or commercial roles within construction
• Experience procuring mechanical and electrical packages on large scale projects
• Background working with a main contractor or MEP subcontractor
• Excellent understanding of MEP systems and interfaces
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and schematics
• Experience completing take offs and supporting tender evaluations
• Strong commercial awareness with proven negotiation skills
• Confident leading subcontractor meetings and managing tender processes
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and reporting capability
• Proficient in Excel and procurement systems
• Experience in data centre or pharmaceutical projects is highly advantageous
