The Company
This long-established Irish main contractor has built an excellent reputation for delivering technically challenging construction projects across Ireland. Their portfolio includes large commercial developments, aviation infrastructure, healthcare, pharmaceutical and public sector projects, with a consistent focus on quality, programme certainty and collaborative project delivery.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of major projects in Dublin, they are seeking an experienced Planner to join the project team on a significant construction development at Dublin Airport, Co Dublin.
The Role: Planner
Reporting to the Planning Manager and working closely with the Project Director, Site Management and Commercial teams, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and monitoring detailed construction programmes throughout the full project lifecycle.
The successful Planner will work closely with operational teams to identify risks, monitor progress against key milestones and provide clear reporting that supports informed project decisions. This is a key position where accurate planning and proactive programme management will directly influence successful project delivery.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have experience as a Planner or Senior Planner with an Irish or UK main contractor.
- Proven experience required on large-scale building or infrastructure projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 is essential.
- Experience producing and maintaining detailed construction programmes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work alongside site, commercial and design teams.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working on aviation, commercial, healthcare or large public sector developments.
- Familiarity with NEC, JCT or Public Works Contracts.
- Knowledge of programme risk analysis and delay assessment.
- Experience presenting programme updates to senior management and clients.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Membership of a recognised professional body.
- Experience using Power BI, Asta Powerproject or similar reporting software.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed baseline construction programmes from pre-construction through to project completion.
- Update project programmes regularly to reflect progress, delays and programme changes.
- Monitor critical path activities and identify opportunities to improve project delivery.
- Produce short-term look-ahead programmes to assist site management teams.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers and commercial teams to ensure programme objectives are achieved.
- Prepare progress reports, programme narratives and planning presentations for internal and client meetings.
- Analyse programme risks and recommend practical mitigation measures.
- Support tender planning, sequencing strategies and logistics planning where required.
- Ensure planning information reflects actual site progress through regular site visits and collaboration with delivery teams.
