We are seeking a Process Environmental Scientist to join a busy operations team supporting water and wastewater treatment sites across the Munster region.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in treatment processes who enjoys working both independently and alongside senior specialists to optimise plant performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with quality and environmental standards.
The position involves regular travel to treatment plants, carrying out inspections, sampling, analysis, and operational duties. You will work closely with process, mechanical and site teams to help monitor, analyse, and improve treatment performance. Strong communication skills, technical curiosity, and the ability to work professionally with colleagues and clients are essential.

Process Environmental Scientist Skills:
- Experience working with drinking water and wastewater treatment processes is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical ability with hands-on laboratory analysis skills.
- Proficiency with PC applications including Excel and Word.
- Comfortable interpreting data from SCADA and process monitoring systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to a varied workload.
- Full Irish driving licence required.
- Travel to multiple treatment plants across Munster to carry out operational and process-related duties.
- Conduct site inspections, sampling and analysis of drinking water and wastewater processes.
- Troubleshoot process issues on-site and support the implementation of corrective measures.
- Identify opportunities for optimisation and efficiency improvements, with ongoing performance monitoring.
- Operate treatment plants as required and support wider operational teams.
- Work closely with mechanical, process, and site personnel to maintain high performance standards.
- Calibrate laboratory and field equipment and maintain accurate process documentation.
- Analyse and interpret SCADA and process data to detect trends and inform decision-making.
- Participate in role-specific training and ongoing upskilling.
