You will be joining a growing engineering team in Carlow who are looking to bring you in as a Project Engineer with 3+ years of experience to support the delivery of key water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
This is a permanent role with strong progression potential and offers a great opportunity to work across all phases of the project lifecycle, from design and procurement right through to site coordination and handover.
You’ll be working alongside Project Managers to help deliver critical infrastructure projects across the water sector. The role is a mix of office and site-based work and covers everything from early-stage technical designs to site coordination and client liaison.

Project Engineer Skills:
- 3+ years’ experience in a mechanical or electrical engineering role, preferably with exposure to the water industry
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
- Some experience working on construction/installation projects (design, site, or commissioning)
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD (able to read and update technical drawings)
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal, and confident working with different teams (internal, suppliers, contractors, clients)
- Organised, detail-oriented and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Full clean driving licence (as site visits will be required)
As a Project Engineer:
- Assist in the design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects
- Prepare design drawings, technical reports, and supporting documentation
- Support in procurement, liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure technical compliance
- Assist in preparing method statements, risk assessments and technical submissions
- Monitor project progress and update schedules in line with agreed timelines
- Coordinate with site teams and sub-contractors to ensure safe, efficient delivery
- Attend client meetings and support in resolving on-site or technical issues
- Maintain project documentation and ensure quality and compliance standards are met
- Contribute to safety audits, commissioning, and project handover documentation (O&M manuals etc.)
