Job title: Project Engineer – Water & Wastewater Process

The Company
Specialist engineering contractor delivering water and wastewater treatment infrastructure throughout Ireland and the UK. Their expertise spans design, construction, process engineering, commissioning, and operational support across major municipal and industrial projects.
They are currently delivering a significant wastewater treatment plant project in Co Louth with a programme extending through to 2029/2030, creating an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer with strong process engineering knowledge.
The Role: Project Engineer
This Project Engineer position will focus on the implementation and delivery of approved process designs during the construction phase of a major wastewater treatment facility.
You will work closely with project managers, commissioning teams, design engineers, and site personnel to ensure process systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in line with project requirements.
Must Have Requirements
You will have previous experience delivering process-driven infrastructure projects and a strong understanding of wastewater treatment operations. You should be comfortable working within multidisciplinary project teams and capable of driving technical solutions throughout project delivery.

Must Have Requirements
- Degree in Chemical, Process, Mechanical, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline
- Proven experience on water or wastewater treatment projects
- Strong process engineering background
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams
- Full driving licence
- Wastewater treatment plant experience
- Commissioning and start-up experience
- Knowledge of Irish Water/Uisce Éireann standards
- Mechanical and electrical process system understanding
- Manage process engineering activities throughout project delivery
- Coordinate installation and commissioning of treatment systems
- Review technical documentation and process specifications
- Monitor project performance against programme targets
- Liaise with design teams, subcontractors, and operational stakeholders
- Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities
- Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and safety standards
