This is a cracking opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join a well-established and growing team based in Carlow. This is a full-time, permanent position and ideal for someone who thrives in delivering full-lifecycle water and wastewater infrastructure projects, from early design through to handover.

The role offers a great mix of office-based work and site visits, and you’ll be involved in everything from developing design drawings and technical submissions, right through to overseeing site crews and managing handovers.

If you're looking to step into a busy, rewarding role with a long-term pipeline of work, this is a solid move. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys ownership, autonomy, and being hands-on with their projects.

For those eager to learn more about this exciting opportunity, please do not hesitate to reach out to Stephen at stephen@breaghrecruitment.com / 015314345

Project Manager Skills:
  • 10+ years’ experience in mechanical/electrical engineering, ideally in a project engineering or project management role
  • Background in water and wastewater is a strong advantage
  • Comfortable using AutoCAD to update construction drawings and coordinate between vendors and contractors
  • Confident managing contractors and subcontractors across multiple disciplines
  • A strong mix of technical, commercial, and organisational skills
  • Proactive, practical and able to adapt quickly when priorities shift
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal and comfortable working with a range of stakeholders

As a Project Manager:
  • Taking ownership of water/wastewater projects across the full lifecycle — design, procurement, construction, and final delivery
  • Working on preliminary designs, technical reports, and detailed calculations
  • Interpreting and implementing client specs, and acting as the go-to contact for clients and their reps
  • Liaising with suppliers to secure accurate quotes and ensure full compliance with project specs
  • Preparing method statements, risk assessments, and quality control documentation
  • Managing schedules, tracking progress, coordinating resources (both internal and subcontractors), and keeping everything on track
  • Ensuring site safety files are fully up-to-date and compliant with HSA regs
  • Keeping a close eye on finances, variations, and documentation throughout
  • Overseeing site works and supporting crews with boots-on-the-ground supervision when needed
