This international engineering contractor has over 45 years of experience delivering complex mechanical and turnkey engineering solutions across Europe and worldwide. Operating across the pharmaceutical, data centre, food and beverage, energy, port infrastructure and process manufacturing sectors, they have built a reputation for delivering high-quality engineering projects safely and efficiently.
Due to continued growth across mainland Europe, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of major mechanical and industrial engineering projects in Germany. This is a long-term opportunity with an expanding Irish business that continues to invest heavily in its people and international operations.
The Role: Project Manager
Based on a major project in Germany, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical engineering works from project commencement through to commissioning and handover.
Working closely with the client, design teams, subcontractors and senior management, you will ensure all aspects of programme delivery, commercial performance, quality and health and safety are managed to the highest standard.
This role would suit an experienced Project Manager with a strong mechanical or industrial background who enjoys leading multidisciplinary teams on technically challenging projects.
Must Have Requirements
You are an experienced Project Manager who has successfully delivered complex mechanical or industrial engineering projects. You are commercially focused, technically strong and comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams on large-scale engineering programmes.
You communicate well with clients and site teams, remain organised under pressure and have the leadership skills needed to keep projects moving safely and on programme.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have 7+ years' experience as a Project Manager delivering mechanical or industrial engineering projects.
- Proven experience required managing projects for an engineering contractor or mechanical contractor.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and programme delivery.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, client teams and multidisciplinary engineering personnel.
- Full EU working rights or eligibility to work in Germany.
- Pharmaceutical, process manufacturing, energy or data centre project experience.
- Experience delivering international projects.
- Familiarity with NEC, FIDIC or similar forms of contract.
- Strong commissioning and handover experience.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
- PMP or equivalent project management qualification.
- German language skills beneficial but not essential.
- Lead the safe delivery of mechanical engineering projects from start to finish.
- Manage programme, resources, procurement and project budgets.
- Coordinate engineering, design and construction teams throughout delivery.
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
- Monitor project performance, cost forecasts and reporting.
- Ensure all quality standards and technical specifications are achieved.
- Drive health and safety standards across the project.
- Manage project risks, variations and commercial performance.
- Support commissioning, testing and final project handover.
