With a growing pipeline of industrial projects across Europe, they are now recruiting an experienced Project Manager for a major industrial development in Sines, Portugal.

The Role: Project Manager
This is a key Project Manager position overseeing mechanical engineering works on a large industrial project in Sines, Portugal.
You will take responsibility for the planning, coordination and delivery of mechanical installation works, ensuring the project is completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Working closely with the Contracts Manager, site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and client representatives, you will manage all aspects of project delivery from procurement and installation through to commissioning and handover.
The role will suit an experienced Mechanical Project Manager who is comfortable managing site teams, coordinating complex engineering packages and maintaining strong commercial and programme control.
Must Have Requirements
You are an experienced Project Manager with a strong mechanical engineering or industrial construction background and a proven track record of delivering technically demanding projects.
You understand the practical challenges of managing large mechanical installations, from coordinating subcontractors and site teams to maintaining programme, quality and commercial control.
You will be confident dealing directly with clients, managing engineering teams and making decisions that keep works progressing.
Strong communication skills, commercial awareness and a hands-on approach to project delivery are essential.

- Must have 5+ years' experience in project management within mechanical engineering, industrial construction or process installations.
- Proven experience delivering mechanical engineering packages, industrial pipework, steelwork or heavy engineering installations.
- Experience working with an Irish or UK mechanical engineering contractor is required.
- Strong knowledge of project programming, procurement, subcontractor coordination and commercial management.
- Must have the legal right to work in Portugal and be willing to work on site in Sines.
- Experience delivering pharmaceutical, energy, manufacturing or large industrial engineering projects.
- Previous experience working on European engineering or construction projects.
- Knowledge of mechanical installation, fabrication, process pipework and commissioning.
- Experience using MS Project, Primavera P6 or similar planning software.
- Degree or trade background in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of mechanical engineering works on site, ensuring all activities are completed safely and to programme.
- Develop, monitor and maintain project programmes, identifying potential delays and implementing corrective measures.
- Coordinate site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and specialist installation teams.
- Oversee mechanical installation works including industrial pipework, equipment installation, fabrication and associated engineering packages.
- Manage procurement schedules, materials, plant and labour resources to maintain project progress.
- Monitor project budgets, costs, variations and commercial performance alongside the commercial team.
- Liaise with client representatives, consultants and other contractors to coordinate project activities.
- Ensure all works comply with relevant health and safety legislation, project specifications and quality requirements.
- Review technical drawings, method statements, risk assessments and installation documentation.
- Attend project progress meetings and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Identify technical, commercial and programme risks and take appropriate action to resolve issues.
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, quality documentation and final project handover.
