The Role – Project Quantity Surveyor

Reporting to the Contracts Manager / Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial performance of projects under your remit, ensuring costs are controlled, risks are managed, and commercial strategy is delivered in line with business objectives.

This is an excellent opportunity for a QS with post-graduate experience looking to take ownership of projects while being supported by an experienced commercial team.


Key Responsibilities
  • Full QS duties including measurement, procurement, cost control, and cost reporting.

  • Preparation of interim valuations, subcontractor payments, and final accounts.

  • Management and tracking of variations, including maintaining project variation registers.

  • Preparation of internal subcontractor payment certificates.

  • Review and monitoring of project commercial plans and cashflow.

  • Liaising closely with site teams, Contracts Managers, and project stakeholders.

  • Supporting accurate financial reporting and commercial decision-making.


About You
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying with post-graduate experience.

  • Strong understanding of technical construction details.

  • Excellent negotiation and commercial skills.

  • Highly organised with strong time management abilities.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and IT skills.

  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with Cubit / Buildsoft advantageous.

  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
