This established Irish main contractor delivers complex building and civil engineering projects across a range of sectors, with a strong reputation for taking on technically challenging work.
They are commencing a major €45m project in Co Mayo involving a mix of restoration, new build construction, civil works, demolition and marine works. With the project only getting started, this is a good time to come on board and see it through the full commercial cycle.
The Role: Project Quantity Surveyor
As Project Quantity Surveyor, you will form part of the commercial team responsible for the financial and contractual management of this €45m project in Mayo.
Working alongside an experienced Commercial Manager and wider project team, you will have involvement from the early stages through procurement, construction and final account.
The variety of restoration, new build, civils, demolition and marine works will give you broad commercial exposure rather than being tied to one repetitive work package.

About You
You will be a Quantity Surveyor with around five years’ experience who is comfortable taking responsibility for your own packages and dealing directly with subcontractors.
You should have a solid understanding of cost control, procurement, valuations and variation management, along with the confidence to work closely with both the commercial and site teams.
A practical understanding of how work is delivered on site will be important given the mix of restoration, new build, civils, demolition and marine elements involved.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have approximately 5 years’ Quantity Surveying experience within the Irish construction industry
- Proven experience required with a main contractor or civil engineering contractor
- Must have experience managing subcontractor packages, valuations, variations and cost reporting
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline required
Preferred Experience
- Experience across building and civil engineering projects preferred
- Exposure to restoration, demolition or marine works would be beneficial
- Experience working on projects from early construction stage through to final account preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial and contractual matters across assigned project packages
- Prepare budgets, cost reports, forecasts and cash flow information
- Procure subcontractors and manage packages from tender stage through to final account
- Measure and value subcontractor works and assess payment applications
- Prepare interim valuations and supporting commercial documentation
- Identify, record and manage variations and additional works
- Monitor project expenditure against budget and highlight commercial risks
- Liaise closely with the Project Manager, site team and subcontractors
- Maintain accurate records for valuations, variations and contractual correspondence
- Support the Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager with monthly reporting and overall cost control
- Assist with the preparation and agreement of final accounts
