The Company

Our client is a specialist data centre contractor delivering major turnkey data centre projects across Europe, covering civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical works through to commissioning and handover.

They are seeking an experienced SAP Manager to oversee electrical safety, energy isolation and permit management on a major data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany.

The Role: SAP Manager

As SAP Manager, you will take responsibility for managing electrical safety procedures, energy isolation and permit-to-work systems across a large-scale data centre construction and commissioning project.

Working closely with construction management, commissioning teams, electrical subcontractors and EHS personnel, you will ensure all activities involving hazardous electrical energy are properly controlled and carried out under approved procedures.

The role involves managing electrical infrastructure from 20kV systems through to final LV circuits, ensuring safe access, isolation, testing and energisation throughout the project.

This is a site-based position in Frankfurt operating on a 10 days on, 4 days off rotation.

Must Have Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 7 years' experience in electrical construction, commissioning or electrical safety management within an M&E contracting environment.
• Relevant electrical qualification and strong technical knowledge of HV and LV electrical systems required.
• Proven experience managing electrical isolation procedures, permit-to-work systems and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) processes.
• Hands-on experience coordinating electrical safety procedures during testing, commissioning and energisation activities.
• Strong communication, organisation and leadership skills, with the ability to manage electrical safety requirements across multiple project teams.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience as a Senior Authorised Person, SAP Manager or Electrical Safety Manager on major data centre projects.
• Experience managing electrical infrastructure at 20kV and LV distribution level.
• Knowledge of energy isolation procedures across construction, commissioning and operational environments.
• Experience working with electrical subcontractors, commissioning specialists and EHS teams.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and electrical safety documentation systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the electrical safety and energy isolation programme across a major data centre project in Frankfurt.
• Oversee permit-to-work procedures, electrical isolations and Lockout/Tagout processes.
• Ensure safe working conditions are in place before electrical installation, testing and commissioning activities begin.
• Review electrical safety documentation, method statements, risk assessments and permits.
• Coordinate electrical isolation and energisation activities with construction and commissioning teams.
• Manage electrical safety procedures across 20kV infrastructure and LV distribution systems.
• Carry out audits of electrical energy isolation procedures and ensure compliance with project safety requirements.
• Work closely with EHS teams to maintain safe working practices around hazardous electrical energy.
• Provide training and guidance to site personnel on electrical isolation procedures and permit requirements.
• Chair electrical safety coordination meetings with clients, vendors and specialist subcontractors.
• Support safe testing, verification and commissioning of critical data centre electrical systems.

About You

You are an experienced SAP Manager, Senior Authorised Person or Electrical Safety Manager with a strong electrical background and practical knowledge of HV/LV systems.

You will be confident managing electrical isolation procedures, coordinating commissioning teams and ensuring electrical works are carried out safely in a live construction environment.

Strong technical knowledge, communication skills and attention to detail are essential, along with the ability to manage electrical safety across multiple work packages.
