Senior Building Services Coordinator Skills:
- A relevant third-level qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management.
- 3–5 years’ experience in a similar MEP coordination role, ideally with a main contractor or large-scale construction project environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, construction processes, and commissioning practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to navigate and interpret BIM models.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a proven ability to coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Exceptional planning, organization, and time-management abilities.
- Ability to thrive under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality project outcomes.
As a Senior Building Services Coordinator:
- Coordinate all phases of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) services from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.
- Actively participate in project planning, design coordination, construction execution, testing, commissioning, and client demonstrations.
- Manage and oversee utility connections and ensure seamless integration into project timelines.
- Collaborate closely with the Design Team, ensuring Technical Submittals and project information align with the overall project schedule.
- Track and manage the flow of information between the Design Team and specialist subcontractors, ensuring all approvals and clarifications are secured.
- Lead and chair regular coordination meetings with all MEP subcontractors to maintain schedule, quality, and compliance.
- Oversee MEP installations on-site, ensuring that all stage inspections and quality checks are completed to specification and approved standards.
- Monitor changes and discrepancies between project drawings and technical specifications, ensuring they are addressed promptly.
- Produce weekly MEP installation updates and progress reports for the project team.
- Ensure all MEP works meet Building Control Amendment Regulations (BCAR) requirements and comply with all Health and Safety standards.
- Manage and drive the commissioning process, ensuring systems meet design parameters prior to client handover.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of BCAR documentation and coordinate the timely assembly of Safety File information at project completion.
